Violinist Jorge Jimenez presents the finest music written for the Spanish guitar—reimagined on the violin. Journeying from the vibrant streets of Madrid to the courts of Renaissance Valencia and Baroque Spain, the concert features works by Gaspar Sanz, Luis de Milán, Santiago de Murcia, and Domenico Scarlatti.
Blending dance, improvisation, and rich cultural influences—including echoes of Italy and Latin America—this programme captures the spirit and vitality of Spanish musical tradition. The performance is complemented by transcriptions of lute works by Johann Sebastian Bach, creating a unique dialogue between Spanish and Baroque styles.
