The Women of New Ground

We're delighted to welcome two of the women behind New Ground — the pioneering North London co-housing community — to Manningtree Arts, to talk about their remarkable new book, Our Later Years: Shared Wisdom on Ageing Powerfully Together.

New Ground is home to twenty-six women, aged 50 to 92, who spent twenty years fighting to build a community where they could grow old on their own terms. Our Later Years draws on their collective experience to challenge tired, ageist stereotypes and offer something rarer: an honest, hopeful blueprint for what a fulfilling third act can actually look like.

Expect personal stories of mistakes, losses, friendships and joys, alongside practical wisdom on community, independence and reimagining what it means to grow older — together.
