About the event
From a chance meeting at Manningtree Arts between guitarist/composer Aneurin Rees, and electronic musician/composer Philip Clevberger, grew The Man with the Artichoke Heart. An instrumental journey where analogue meets digital to depict the tale of a missing heart-piece in East London.
Fuelled by Manningtree Arts coffee, improvisations become deep textural landscapes of guitars, vintage analogue synths, sampling, and household items. The music eventually caught the attention of local autistic artist - and coffee lover - Lottie Mills, and so became an album created from the culture of a cafe in Manningtree.
Come and immerse yourself in the soundscapes interspersed with narration from, you guessed it - Manningtree Arts local and regular - Paul Campion.
