About the event
Join us at Manningtree Arts for a special evening celebrating queer voices in literature, as part of Manningtree Pride 2025.
We’re delighted to welcome Elizabeth Lovatt, author of Calling the Lesbian Line, and Kate Worsley, author of Foxash and She Rises, for an intimate conversation about storytelling, identity, community, and the spaces queer writing can open up. Elizabeth’s powerful debut explores the real-life history of a vital LGBTQ+ helpline in 1980s Britain, while Kate’s richly atmospheric novel She Rises reimagines queer lives in early 18th Century.
Together, they will discuss their creative processes, inspirations, and how their work resonates with contemporary conversations around visibility and belonging. The evening will also include audience questions and a book signing.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to LGBTQ+ charities, supporting the incredible work being done locally and nationally to uplift and empower queer communities.
